Is Agfest actually Fishfest?

This year Agfest was back on with a vengeance and I sensed people might come in big numbers. I thought if this was the case, I should offer to give the TARFish team a hand over the 4 days.

Agfest 2022 was insane and a great deal of fun. The people did indeed come and the marine area was awash with people starving for information on what was, or what might affect them in the Recreational fishing space. I really enjoyed explaining to people just what TARFish is and why it is a good idea to give membership some thought. First thing I shared was that membership was free and this found favour. 😊

Then in layman’s terms I would go on to explain;

Every industry and company has advocates and representative bodies, sometimes many, that look out for company and industry sectors interests. Small companies are often too busy to keep abreast of all the little changes that come into effect and a representative body can keep on top of these and say “Nah.. Hang on Woooo” if there is something out of line or not of any value.

I went on to explain;

This is in essence what TARFish provides to recreational fishers. A third party and fully independent body representing members and rec fisho’s.

It was amazing once the light was switched on inside those I spoke to how keen they were to be involved. So we managed to get a heap of new members and the more we have the better we can, protect, promote and make for safe fishing for the benefit of all Tasmanian Recreational fishers.
