Our Positions
Current Positions
It is important recreational fishers know where TARFish stand on a range of issues that may impact recreational marine fishing in Tasmania.
When developing positions, TARFish draws on the expertise of Board members and information gathered directly from the recreational fishing community – this may be via social media, surveys, informal discussions, forums as well as reference groups. TARFish also consults with external stakeholders, scientists, and other experts.
Our positions will always reflect our purpose, goals and the way we work. They will also strongly align with the organisation’s strategic plan.
TARFish will continue to progressively update its positions. If you have an interest in any current position statements, we encourage you to contact us with questions or points you consider should be included or excluded. In addition, if you feel TARFish needs to have a position on a topic or issue, please let us know.
